Standing Together Makes Strong

Why would they grow so close to each other, I thought. Then I looked at the ones that stood alone brazing the sometimes very strong winds from the sea, and I saw they were bent. Standing together makes strong.

Fred Howard Beach

This is a lovely beach reachable via a long causeway from the Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I was very impressed by the humangous cloud formations, making the beach and the trees look really small.

Someone is Having Fun

This was interesting, as the man's surf board was about 1 foot above the water at all times, only the fin at the end of his board was in the water. That of course made his sailing very fast. This beach is near Tarpon Springs in Florida.

The Storm is Arriving

When leaving Mt. Dora, Florida, the sky was blue with lovely white clouds and the sun was shining. Then while driving West on Hwy EC-470 these huge thunderheads arrived creating an eery mood behind the Suwannee-American Cement Factory.

Clouds so Close

Dramatic Sky

Once in a while there is an evening sky like none other. This was one of those evenings on Pine Island in Florida. People were relaxing in their beach chairs, taking a walk on the beach or a stroll in the water. I liked the seagrass hanging over those people like an umbrella.

Palm Trees in Water

There is a whole forest of these palms. I did not know that they liked water. Usually I've seen them in desert regions in the Western States. This is just beautiful. Found them on Hwy 597 Shoal Line Blvd in Hernando County, Florida.

Florida Living

Dinner Time at the River

Those are three American White Ibis' searching for their dinner in the Weeki Wachee River at Roger's Park on Hwy 597. These birds have long red legs and a long red beak. They walk in the shallow water and pick their food without getting wet.

Florida Storm

The rain storm was about to hit. And when we arrived at the "wall of water" it became very dark inside of it and a little frightening for a while. View into the North Rim

This side of the Grand Canyon is not so dry. There are lots of trees and bushes. And the red rocks that are dry and bare on the South Rim are covered here with green shrubs. That gives a totally different impression of the magnificent Grand Canyon.
