A Plant Personality

When looking at this plant I got the idea of a king showing off his crown. The diameter of this plant was for sure 4 feet or more. And there were several more like it in the Yogananda Meditation Garden in Encinitas, California.

Its Own Little World

High up on the Cliff

This view of the Pacific Ocean through the flowers attracted my attention. What a great spot to look out over the Ocean. On the left side there is even a little nook to stay and rest for a while. This is at the Yogananda Meditation Garden in Encinitas, California.

Yogananda's Mansion

The Mansion is built on top of the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Paramahansa Yogananda was an Indian monk, yogi and guru who introduced millions to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga. He lived from 1893 to 1952, the last 32 years in America.

The Meditation Garden

Considering that this garden is on a cliff high above the Pacific Ocean and not agricultural land, it's astonishing that they managed to grow all these different and exotic plants here. This is the Yogananda Garden in Encinitas, California.

Yogananda Meditation Garden

It's not just the amount of beautiful plants that amazes everyone who visits the Meditation Garden but also the fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. The beach around the corner is a famous spot for surfers. There are 3 visible in the water directly below the house.

Pacific Ocean View

High up on a cliff above the Pacific is this outstanding Meditation Garden in Encinitas, California. It offers spectacular ocean views and a unique inspirational setting where one can pray, meditate, or just sit quietly enjoying the beauty in nature. Every time we are in Southern California we take the time to visit the garden.

La Jolla Cove

The first sun rays are reaching the La Jolla Cove. It's a lovely California morning, totally peaceful and serene. Nobody in sight anywhere, just three seagulls having a little chat together. La Jolla Village has posh shops and high quality restaurants. It's located North of San Diego, California.

La Jolla, California

These lucky people are enjoying a calm and beautiful day at the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla. The seagulls are keeping an eye on them in case they can catch some food. A lovely breeze is coming from the Pacific and the sun turns the cliffs into a wonderful warm color. What a serene moment!

La Jolla Coastline

This is a typical sunny day here in La Jolla. The Pacific is dark blue, the sky kind of hazy and the sun is warm. Due to the usually strong waves the costline is pretty rough. Amazing that the plants can survive considering the salty breeze coming in from the ocean all the time.

Fog Rolling In

6:00 PM the last sun rays hit the cliffs. Once the fog rolls in, it will be totally dark. This is the Pacific Ocean showing off all its miracles. Down there is the old and famous Bixby Bridge on California Hwy 1.
