Navajo Bridge View

This is a different view of the Navajo Bridge crossing the Colorado River. The one on the right side is for cars and the one on the left is for pedestrians only. Further down the highway 89A is Marble Canyon, Utah.

Navajo Bridge

This amazing steel bridge spans the Colorado River in Arizona near Marble Canyon and Lee's Ferry. The bridge on the left is for vehicles traveling on U.S. Route 89A. The right side is for pedestrians only, it was the older bridge. Both run 470 feet high. The view down to the Colorado River is breathtaking.

Monument Valley with Clouds.

Dark clouds are moving into the valley. They sure look like rain which would be a blessing for the dry earth. And I think the animals would love it too.

Oljato Monument Valley

From this viewpoint it looked calm and sunny, but down in the Monument Valley a blasting sand storm was forcing cars and RVs to find shelter up here in this little cove.

A Cozy Place to Rest

After hours of walking in the Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado this place looks like the perfect one to take a little rest. The trees and rocks are in harmony with the blue sky and beautiful clouds and it's pretty warm.

Driving up to Telluride, CO.

Want to check out Telluride again after not having visited for many years. It is a lovely little town with fancy small shops, being the Ski resort for the well-to-do people.

The Famous Green Dino

On Hwy 24 going towards Capitol Reef in Utah, there is this sweet looking Green Dino. I had never seen one of these, so of course I had to take a photo of this happy looking Dino at the gas station. Later I read up on the story of Sinclair’s famous Green Dino and found out that they started in 1916 and went through hell and back (Depression and WWII) with their business endeavors, but coming out stronger now than ever before.

Near Caineville in Utah

State Road 24 in Utah near Caineville is a spectacular road. The scenery changes from deep red rocky mountains to grey smooth yellow or grey mountains. Amazing beauty is in those rocks that are running along the road for hours and hours.

Green Valley in Torrey

We did not expect a wonderful green valley in this dry area outside of Torrey in Utah. It sure was a pleasure for the eyes to see some green among all the red stone. The creek might have carried more water in the winter but now only a little water was left.

Our New Friends

After driving all day up and down the mountains on Hwy 12 we arrived in Torrey, Utah. It's a little town with farms on the outskirts. And there we met these beautiful horses. They sure liked our apples and were a little sad when we left. I guess they don't see too many visitors.

A Moment in Time

We were checking out the back roads in Torrey, Utah, and came to this little western farm on foot of the mountains. Those two horses came over to greet us. It seemed they did not have much entertainment, as there were no people around. They very much liked our apple while the other horse in the background preferred the fresh green grass.

Western Scenery

Amazing view from the Kiva Koffeehouse on Highway 12 in Utah. You would not expect any building among all those red rocks. Where do they get water and electricity. Well, this is America and if there is a will, there is a way.

Countryside in Utah

Utah has the most interesting landscapes all across the state. This is on Hwy 12 somewhere around Bryce on the way to Escalante. Hwy 9 and 12 and 24 are our favorite locations because they are so varied in color and scenery.

Red Canyon Arch

After being totally overwhelmed by the beauty of the red rock formations which look like kings and queens in stone, there is suddenly this gorgeous view through the arch. Highway 12 in Utah is really amazing.

Inside Red Canyon, Utah

Bonnie Springs Ranch

The Ranch was 20 mins West of Las Vegas. It was originally created in the 1840s, as a stopover for wagon trains heading to California. Bonnie McGaugh purchased the ranch in 1952 and lived there for the rest of her life. Bonnie Springs was sold in 2019, and will be a rich residential community by the name of The Ranch at Red Rock.
