A Storm is Brewing in the Distance.

This is what it looks like when a big storm approaches in Florida. The clouds are really in your face, looking a bit intimidating, even though the sun is still shining with full power. I guess it's time to get indoors.

Friends on the Way.

A beautiful horse ranch with lovely horses. They look happy as they have all they need, a little lake, green pasture, a huge tree for shade. The tree alone is magical with the Spanish Moss hanging low.

Easy Living

What caught my attention on this busy morning at the Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa were those fantastic clouds and their reflections in the water. It gave the scenery a special dynamic. The yachts in the distance are very pretty too of course.

The Harbor of Tampa

Helen Town Center

These buildings look very much like little towns in Bavaria, Germany. But before the arrival of European settlers in the 1800s, most of northern Georgia and Helen was home to the Cherokee Nation. And today one can still find many remnants of them all over the Appalachian Mountains. Plus the city of Cherokee which is located nearby in North Carolina on Cherokee Territory has yearly shows about the 18th-century Cherokee lifestyle.

Bergland Mall in Helen

Even the mall looks different in Helen, Georgia, than any other place. This Bergland Mall sure has a European flair to it. Next to the mall is a River Tubing place, a Mini Golf and a beautiful Resort. Helen has something to do for people of all ages.

Helen's Welcome Center

Helen is this unique German town in Georgia's Appalachian foothills. It also has a long history as a logging town, and nowadays it is mainly known for its Bavarian building style and culture. Exploring the town and the surrounding area gives you a glimpse into this town's rich history back to the times of the Cherokee Nation.

Break-time?

Even in a beautiful and calm town like Helen in Georgia's Appalachian foothills, sometimes there is work to be done. And on this day when I wanted to photograph the unusual house by the green hill, there was a yellow Ford machine parked right in front ot it. Helen is a very touristic town and is known for its Bavarian building style and culture.
