Goulding's Lodge

In this little corner at the Goulding's Lodge in Oljato Monument Valley, Utah, there was this huge travel coach parked. It's color totally matched the surrounding mountains.

Peace of Mind in Monument Valley.

If one is looking for some peace of mind, this scenery which runs along Hwy 163 in the Monument Valley, on the Arizona side, is a perfect place. One can observe the creation of these beautiful, ever changing, sandy waves while relaxing right there.

View of the Valley

It was still early and no one was at the little jewelry stand which had broken down. The valley was quiet and the view was wide and clear all the way to the village and the mountains in the far distance.

A Cozy Place to Rest

After hours of walking in the Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado this place looks like the perfect one to take a little rest. The trees and rocks are in harmony with the blue sky and beautiful clouds and it's pretty warm.

The Cliff Palace of the Anasazi.

Mesa Verde: The Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde contains about 150 rooms. It is maintained well by those workers in the picture. Why the Anasazi built their dwellings into the walls of the canyon, and why they suddenly left without a trace, no one has figuered that out yet.

Near Caineville in Utah

State Road 24 in Utah near Caineville is a spectacular road. The scenery changes from deep red rocky mountains to grey smooth yellow or grey mountains. Amazing beauty is in those rocks that are running along the road for hours and hours.

Green Valley in Torrey

We did not expect a wonderful green valley in this dry area outside of Torrey in Utah. It sure was a pleasure for the eyes to see some green among all the red stone. The creek might have carried more water in the winter but now only a little water was left.

A Moment in Time

We were checking out the back roads in Torrey, Utah, and came to this little western farm on foot of the mountains. Those two horses came over to greet us. It seemed they did not have much entertainment, as there were no people around. They very much liked our apple while the other horse in the background preferred the fresh green grass.

Red Canyon Arch

After being totally overwhelmed by the beauty of the red rock formations which look like kings and queens in stone, there is suddenly this gorgeous view through the arch. Highway 12 in Utah is really amazing.

Bonnie Springs Ranch

The Ranch was 20 mins West of Las Vegas. It was originally created in the 1840s, as a stopover for wagon trains heading to California. Bonnie McGaugh purchased the ranch in 1952 and lived there for the rest of her life. Bonnie Springs was sold in 2019, and will be a rich residential community by the name of The Ranch at Red Rock.

Desert Art

Borrego Springs has some interesting places to see. The people that live there in the desert are not your normal 9 to 5 public. They are different. The Anza Borrego Desert Valley has a very exciting atmosphere.

Florida Djungle

This is the view from Bird Creek Bridge down to the beach where Elvis Presley shot the film "Follow That Dream" in 1961. It's a really nice area with the Gulf of Mexico in the distance. The Road is called "Follow That Dream Blvd".
